Three teams from Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have won Placement of the Year Awards from Oxford Brookes University at a ceremony on Wednesday 27 June 2018.

The Placement of the Year Awards celebrate excellent placements and learning environments provided by health and social care providers including local NHS trusts.

Students from the University nominate teams they feel have offered them an outstanding placement experience, using criteria such as quality of care, learning opportunities and student support.

The awards picked up by teams from Oxford University Hospitals on the night were:

  • Midwifery: Wantage Community Midwives
  • Physiotherapy: Neurological Rehabilitation, Oxford Centre for Enablement
  • Children's Nursing: Tom's Ward, John Radcliffe Hospital (pictured)

There were also 165 nominations where the student considered the placement worthy of winning placement of the year, and 33 of these were highly commended.

Among the nominations were the Cardiothoracic Ward and Cardiology Ward in the Oxford Heart Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The overall winner of the Placement of the Year Awards 2018 was the Walk-In Centre, Swindon NHS Health Centre.
