Procurement and Supply Chain

OUH Procurement and Supply Chain provides the functions of stock and non-stock ordering, purchasing, contracting and receipt and distribution effectively across Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

What we do


  • serve four hospitals
  • have 1.3m patient contacts a year
  • provide 1.75m meals a year
  • support the buying activity for 12,500 staff
  • transact 36,000 deliveries a year
  • deliver an average of 2,000 items a day (94 percent same day deliveries)
  • provide materials management to 90 wards and departments.

We transact an annual non-pay expenditure of £345m, supporting budget holders to spend their non-pay budget effectively within the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions and legal requirements
