Radiotherapy - for professionals: education and training

As a Therapeutic Radiographer you will have access to the following.

  • A dedicated Practice Educator team to assist with professional development.
  • A centre with modern, state of the art equipment and a proven track record of developing staff.
  • A comprehensive induction and training programme for all grades.
  • A preceptorship programme for newly qualified Band 5 radiographers to guide you through your post qualifying months.
  • A band 5-6 Link Progression Programme to start after 12 months' experience. On successful completion you will be automatically promoted to Band 6.
  • CPD funding for both postgraduate modules and conferences.
  • Rotations in treatment, pre-treatment (CT and virtual simulation) and data prep as well as opportunities for HDR brachytherapy or mould room rotations.
  • Participation in audit, QA and service improvement work.
  • Extended role/skills when rotating through pre-treatment including virtual simulation, contouring and cannulation.
  • Participation in all IGRT and treatment processes including SRS, SABR and CBCT review for all grades.
  • Radiographer-led services such as IGRT, patient review, independent prescribing and palliative planning.
  • An expanding Consultant and Advance Practitioner Radiographer team working in a variety of specialties.
  • A strong research culture with links to the University of Oxford and an early and late phase research team.
