Signposted throughout the hospital. Sandwiches, cakes and pastries, hot and cold drinks, newspapers and magazines.
Monday to Friday (closed weekends): 7.30am - 4.00pm
Breakfast: 7.30am - 11.30am
Lunch: 12.00 - 2.30pm

League of Friends shop

March 2020 - this shop is unfortunately currently closed. We will update this page when it reopens.

Old entrance, Oxford Road (corridor between outpatients and main reception.
Toys, books and videos, cards, toiletries and confectionery.
Monday to Friday: 10.00am - 4.00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 3.00pm - 5.00pm

Cup and Saucer coffee bar

Outpatients Department
Snacks, hot and cold drinks.
Monday to Thursday: 10.00am - 12.00pm, (2.00pm - 4.00pm if volunteers are available)
Friday: 10.00am - 12.00pm

Vending machines

In the main hospital there are vending machines:

  • Maternity Building entrance - snacks, hot and cold drinks
  • Accident and Emergency entrance - snacks, hot and cold drinks
  • E Ward (outside) - hot and cold drinks and snacks
  • X-ray - hot drinks
  • Pathology Laboratories - hot drinks.

Cash machines

There is a free cash machine in the main corridor near reception. Others are located at the nearby branch of Sainsbury's on Oxford Road, signposted 'Superstore'.

Telephones / WiFi

We offer free WiFi on all our hospital sites: 'OUH-Guest'.

You can make and receive phone calls at your bedside via the Hospedia system. A Hospedia vending machine is located in the Clinical Decision Unit, outside E Ward, next to the chapel, and in the Maternity Unit entrance. Alternatively, pay phones are provided in most ward areas. There are further public telephones located around the hospital:

  • outside Rowan Day Unit
  • League of Friends shop
  • Emergency Department entrance
  • outside E Ward
  • Maternity main entrance.

Radio Horton

Patients at the Horton General Hospital can listen to Radio Horton, which is run by volunteers.

Radio Horton is also available to listen to online, so anyone anywhere can tune in.
