Oxford Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre: Annual Review

Each year patients are invited to a detailed Annual Review, which is split into two parts on two separate days. Unfortunately it is not possible to fit all the tests and assessments into a single visit.

Annual Review Part 1

Please bring flat shoes for your exercise test.

Please do not have anything to eat after midnight on the night before your Annual Review (you can drink water though).

If you are a diabetic on insulin you can eat and drink as normal, as you will not need a glucose tolerance test.

The first part of the Annual Review will involve the following.

  • Blood tests
  • Glucose tolerance test (only if you are not diabetic)
  • CF Specialist Nurse review
  • Spirometry
  • Physiotherapy review
  • Ineb download (if you have an Ineb nebulizer)
  • Exercise test
  • Dietitian review - please bring the food diary we have given you and a record of your blood sugars if you have been asked to check them
  • Psychology review - please fill in the questionnaires provided and give them to the Psychologist
  • Social Worker review
  • Chest X-ray

Annual Review Part 2

The second part of your Annual Review will take place in the clinic a few weeks after the first part.

At this appointment you will have the following:

  • ultrasound scan of the abdomen
  • discussions with a doctor about the results of the review, and the plan for the year ahead.
