Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy enables patients to make the greatest use of their skills, in order to regain their independence and enhance their quality of life.

An important part of rehabilitation after illness is the teaching of new or adapted skills to patients to prepare them for discharge from hospital

Working within OUH

The Occupational Therapy team works in an integrated therapy service with colleagues in Physiotherapy.

Occupational Therapy rotation schemes

There are currently two well-developed and popular rotation schemes: Band 5 rotation for junior staff and a Band 6 scheme. The rotation schemes cover all the Trust sites and NHS Oxfordshire facilities in the community.

Undergraduate education

Occupational Therapy undergraduate education is provided locally by Oxford Brookes University within the School of Health Care studies. Clinical placements are provided across all sites and specialties, both for Brookes' students and those from Coventry University.
