Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre

Plastic and reconstructive surgery is a specialist service offered at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. This is provided by two surgeons, Mr Henk Giele and Mr Paul Critchley, who are part of a larger Plastic Surgery Department based in the West Wing at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Services provided include:

  • a Hand Clinic (Monday morning)
  • Hand Surgery theatre (Wednesday) as part of the Upper Limb Team
  • Osteomyelitis Clinic (Thursday morning, weeks 1 and 3 each month)
  • Sarcoma Clinics (Monday morning and Friday morning)
  • complex reconstruction for osteomyelitis, sarcoma, joint infection e.g. knee, hip and spine

Referrals come from all over the country and also within the hospital itself.

A good working relationship with all teams at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre has been forged and the volume and complexity of the work goes from strength to strength.
