All new staff are subject to a probationary period (usually their first six months of work).
During this time, your line manager will monitor your performance and can terminate your contract of employment with one week's notice if they feel you are unsuitable for the role.
Once your probationary period is over, your notice period will increase to that stated on your contract.
Please note that, although a manager can give one week's notice to an employee during the probationary period, employees wishing to terminate the contract will still need to give the full notice period as stated on their contract. For more information, please see the Probationary Period Procedure on the OUH intranet (available to staff only).
