Environmental wellbeing

What surrounds us each day can impact our sense of wellbeing. It is, therefore, important to ensure that our physical environment is suitable, pleasant, stimulating and safe.

This page contains resources available to all staff that can contribute to creating a physical environment that promotes a positive sense of environmental wellbeing.

Charity support

Oxford Hospitals Charity supports our people, patients and their families, and has developed initiatives, such as enhancing existing staff rooms, to help improve your environmental wellbeing at work.

Contact Oxford Hospitals Charity if you have ideas about how the charity can support staff and patients in your area.

Rest areas

Take regular breaks as part of looking after your wellbeing - there are rest areas across the Trust, along with staff rooms and the Restaurant at the Horton for staff to use.

We recognise that these spaces are really appreciated by our people. If you have space in your area we could convert into a rest area, Oxford Hospitals Charity can help transform it to meet your wellbeing needs.

OUH Green Plan

We are committed to driving sustainable development across the Trust to enable us to deliver high quality care and make the best use of our resources.

Our OUH Green Plan, Building a Greener OUH 2022-2027, sets out how we aim to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040 - in line with NHS England's carbon neutral target - so that we can reduce our carbon footprint, minimise waste and provide sustainable healthcare to secure better health for future generations.
