Horton General Hospital wards

There may be times when the visitor is asked to move away from the bedside for short periods of time for clinical reasons.

We are unable to allow flowers.

Please wash your hands or use the alcohol hand gel (on the wall by the entrances to the wards) when you arrive and when you leave.

If you have had an infectious illness, such as diarrhoea, vomiting or a cold, please wait until you are completely better before visiting.

We are committed to reducing the risk of infection and keeping our patients safe.

Please:

  • stay home if you have a cold, infection or diarrhoea and vomiting, and only visit when you have been completely symptom free for 48 hours
  • wash your hands with soap and water, or use alcohol hand rub when visiting hospital.

If you visit someone who has diarrhoea and vomiting, please wash your hands with soap and water afterwards, rather than using the alcohol hand rub.

For more information about Norovirus, please call NHS 111 or visit www.nhs.uk
