A video filmed at the Churchill Hospital by barco TV has won a Silver Award at the World Media Festival in Hamburg, in the category 'Public Relations'.

The video, called 'There's a hero behind every hero fighting cancer', is described as a tribute to cancer clinicians worldwide. It follows a fictional patient's experience of a breast cancer diagnosis by a Radiologist, and her subsequent discussions with the Breast Care Nurses.

The aim is to give patients an idea of what their experience will be, when a diagnosis of cancer is suspected.

There is film of a fictional patient consultation, including the moment when the diagnosis is given, and a multidisciplinary team meeting, where many clinicians and healthcare professionals work together to decide the best course of action for the individual patient.

It also features interviews with some of the real staff who work in the Oxford Cancer Centre; Radiologist Dr Philip Savage, Oncologist Dr Bernadette Lavery, Nurse Shelley Orton and Breast Surgeon Miss Pankaj Gupta Roy.

They speak about the work that they do, and their aim to provide cancer patients with the best possible care, so that they can return to a normal life after recovery.

You can watch the video on YouTube, or on the OUH or barco websites.
