Healthcare heroes honoured at Staff Recognition Awards
Members of staff, volunteers, and their nominators joined together at the John Radcliffe Hospital to celebrate excellence at the Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) Staff Recognition Awards on Thursday 18 June.
This annual event is organised by the Trust and supported by Oxford Hospitals Charity to recognise colleagues for the amazing work they have done in the past year. MTX and Capsticks also generously sponsored the event this year.
Actress Alex Kingston hosted the awards evening– you can read more about her experiences as a patient at OUH in our news story.
The award categories are based on the Trust's values: Excellence, Compassion, Improvement, Learning, Respect and Delivery.

More than 1,900 nominations were received for this year's Staff Recognition Awards, and judging panels including staff from across the Trust had the difficult task of selecting the finalists.
For the first time, the event was also livestreamed and joined by members of OUH staff along with their families, friends, and community members.
Sarah Hordern, Acting Chair at OUH, said: “A huge well done to all the winners and finalists recognised at our annual Staff Recognition Awards. We always love celebrating our fantastic teams and individuals across the Trust with everyone who attended.
“These awards give us an important platform to recognise and reward those who are consistently making a difference and living the values we promote as a Trust.
“Thank you to all involved who worked to make the event a great success, and thank you to everyone in #OneTeamOneOUH for all you do.
“Thank you also to Oxford Hospitals Charity for their generous support of the awards, as their support makes this important celebration of staff achievements possible, as well as our sponsors Capsticks and MTX Contracts.”
Douglas Graham, Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Hospitals Charity, said: "As always, we are delighted to be able to support this special evening, which always inspires and uplifts us. Oxford Hospitals Charity is fortunate to work with many amazing staff across our NHS Trust as well as the incredible charity supporters and volunteers – so this it is wonderful to have the chance to say thank you properly.”
