Prestigious award for OUH surgeon
Mr Radu Mihai, renowned endocrine surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals (OUH), was recently awarded the prestigious Clement Price Thomas Medal by the President of the Royal College of Surgeons.
The award, which is given in recognition of significant contributions to the field of surgery, was presented to Mr Mihai in a special ceremony held at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
Mr Mihai, a consultant surgeon at OUH and a leading figure in endocrine surgery, is the Past President of the British Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
He said: “It is an immense honour to receive the Clement Price Thomas Medal from the President of the Royal College of Surgeons. This award is not just a reflection of my own work, but a tribute to all the patients I have had the privilege of encountering throughout my career. It also acknowledges the time I have spent training the next generation of surgeons, and I am grateful for the generous nomination from a member of our community of endocrine surgeons.
“Lastly, I would like to express my thanks to the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons for offering me the opportunities to continue developing and advancing this important field."
Dr Anny Sykes, Divisional Director for Surgery, Womens and Oncology at OUH, said: “We’re all incredibly proud of Mr Mihai’s achievements which rightly made him a highly respected figure in his field.”
