A team from the Acute Ambulatory Unit (AAU) at the John Radcliffe Hospital is taking part in a 'tough mudder' race to raise funds for their area with the help of Oxford Hospitals Charity.

They have raised over £700 and are looking forward to smashing their target of £1,000.

The team of consultants, pharmacy and nursing staff is taking on the challenge of climbing, swimming and crawling through 20 obstacles over a ten-mile course at Cudlaw Farm, near Henley-on-Thames, on Sunday 6 May 2018.

Sarah Ross, Administration Team Co-ordinator for AAU, said:

"We are incredibly proud of how hard the team has worked with training for this event - especially through the weather we have had.

"All money raised will go towards making the department comfortable and welcoming for all our patients and staff."

The Ambulatory Assessment Unit focuses on reducing hospital admissions, and treating patients in their home environments.
