Lili Hindmarsh
Lili Hindmarsh, one of the registered nurses on the Acute Hospital at Home team at the Horton General Hospital, received a DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional compassionate care she provided to a patient when she worked in the resuscitation ward, and the support she provided to the family.
Her nominator said: "My husband was rushed to the Emergency Department at the Horton General Hospital from another hospital, following complications after a hip replacement surgery. We were warned he may not make it through the night, and after he was stabilised by the doctors he was taken to the Resus Room.
"Lili was the nurse looking after him. She was very attentive and competent and was also wonderful with me as I was by his side. I got very emotional and she was kind and understanding — she was like my own granddaughter of her age.
"She is only 23, but so mature and fit for the job. I was greatly impressed by her — so young and yet very good at the job and compassionate at the same time. She is a credit to her profession, and we are lucky to have her in the NHS."
Congratulations Lili, and thank you for all you do.
