Jonathan Bentley, an Adult Intensive Care Unit Nurse at the John Radcliffe Hospital, was presented with a DAISY Award by Sam Foster and colleagues in September 2020.

Nominated for the award by the family of a patient who sadly died in hospital, Jonathan was recognised for "his compassionate voice and words, his ability at his work, and his thoughtfulness".

The nomination read that Jonathan's compassion "will stay in our memories for a very long time to come - he is the knight in shining armour".

It added: "For a person who doesn't know the patient or family personally and finds time to look at photos and laugh and cry with us is a person of great care and compassion."
