Kate spreads the word in the land of Oz

"Calling all Aussie nurses!

"Oxford University Hospitals, a world-class medical centre in the heart of the English countryside, is looking to recruit Australian nurses. Care to join us?"

Kate Lacey, a Practice Development Nurse at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH), is heading off on holiday to Western Australia - and hoping to bring the Trust back something a little more special than the usual kangaroo-themed souvenirs.

Kate says: "I am originally from Perth in Western Australia. I grew up in the Wheatbelt, and graduated from Notre Dame University in 2001. I have been living in Oxford for the past ten years, and I am a Clinical Educator on the Surgical Emergency Unit at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital. I absolutely love it.

"I keep up-to-date with the news from Perth, and I noticed a while ago that there were a lot of articles on the surplus of nurses in Western Australia, and that many were coming to the UK after they finished training.

"My husband and I are going back on a family holiday with our three young girls to see the relatives, and I want to use the opportunity to spread the word in the major nursing schools in Perth that Oxford is looking to recruit Australian nurses, and is offering a fantastic programme for them."

Kate is leaving the UK on 16 October 2019 and returning on 2 November, and while she's there she plans to give a presentation about the Trust and the perks of living in Oxford.

She will give the presentation twice, at 5.30pm on 22 October 2019 at Curtin University and at 10.00am on 1 November 2019 at Notre Dame University, in their lecture theatres.

It will be aimed at the nursing students of all three years, and uploaded to the 'unihub' site so that students can view it anywhere if they can't attend in person.
