Blood Donor Centre

The Oxford Blood Donor Centre is on the John Radcliffe Hospital site, next to the Academic Centre.

Save a life - give bloodThere is designated parking for donors only in red bays, behind the Centre, between the Academic Centre and the Industrial Block.

Some people may find that they are not eligible to donate, either permanently or temporarily.

Opening times for blood donation

  • Alternate Mondays 10.40am - 1.45pm and 3.10pm - 8.00pm
  • Tuesday 9.40am - 12.45pm and 2.10pm - 7.00pm
  • Wednesday 8.00am - 12.45pm and 2.20pm - 5.20pm
  • Thursday closed
  • Friday 7.55am - 11.05am and 12.20pm - 3.20pm

Between these times staff are not available, however, donors can come into the clinic and wait, as there will be a receptionist present.

Appointment times for platelet donation

  • Monday: 10.40am; 12.20pm; 3.10pm; 4.50pm; 6.30pm
  • Tuesday: 9.40am; 11.20am; 2.10pm; 3.50pm; 5.30pm
  • Wednesday: 8.00am; 9.40am; 11.20am; 2.20pm
  • Thursday closed
  • Friday: 8:00am; 9.40am; 12.20pm; 2.00pm
  • Sunday: 8:00am; 9.40am; 12.20pm; 2.00pm

You are welcome to drop in when the Blood Donor Centre is open, but you may prefer to make an appointment through the website as we cannot predict how long you are likely to wait otherwise.
