Substrate Selection in Heart Failure

Altering Substrate Selection as a Potential Therapeutic Target in Heart Failure

Trial categories: Heart

Sponsoring organisation: University of Oxford

I am trying to recruit healthy individuals of all ages to take part in an MRI based study looking at the heart.

We are interested in how the function of the heart changes depending on the 'fuel' it metabolises - so if it works better using sugar, fat or ketones.

To understand more about this, we need volunteers to undergo an MRI scan following taking in one of these fuel types so we can measure the differences.

If you were to participate, you would be compensated for your travel to us. We would need you to make three morning or afternoon visits at least a week apart which would involve an MRI scan of 2 to 3 hours.
