Inflammation and pain make your muscles weaker and reduce the amount of energy you have. Inflammation in a joint stops it from moving properly. Physiotherapy and home exercises reverse these effects, and stronger and fitter muscles help to protect the body and give you more energy.

We will prioritise exercises to ensure you get maximum benefit. We suggest you undertake each exercise at least five times per week. We will give tips on how to fit them into the day, so that they are less of a drag, but it is up to you to remember.

There are also other ways that exercise can help you.
