Research is vital to learn more about conditions such as JIA, JSLE, JDM, etc. and to help develop new treatments. At OxPARC we are involved with a number of research studies.
We will give you information leaflets with details about relevant research studies. Deciding whether to participate is an individual choice and you will need to think about what the study will involve. If you are interested in participating you will have the opportunity to discuss the study with a member of the team before signing a consent form.
Participation is completely voluntary and even if you agree to participate you can withdraw from the study at any time. You do not have to give a reason for not participating or for wanting to withdraw from a study.
Children under 16 will need parental consent to participate in research studies. Children of 16 or above will be asked to make their own choice about whether they wish to participate/continue in any studies they have been enrolled in and will be asked to sign their own consent form.
