Following the successful Fun Day in May, Oxford Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology Centre (OxPARC) held a Christmas party on Saturday 3 December 2011. Forty children with their families attended paediatric outpatients at the NOC and enjoyed some festive fun.
Children danced to the disco and DJ Ken kept the music playing. Painting, arts and crafts and face painting were all popular. The highlight had to be when Father Christmas came to visit and the children all went home with a full goody bag. Particular thanks goes to the League of Friends at the NOC and the Starlight Children's Foundation which supported the event with funding, party bags and decorations.
A big thank you to all the families who joined us and supported this event; children, families, the parents group, staff and volunteers.
We had some lovely feedback from our patients including...
"We just wanted to say a huge 'THANK YOU' to everyone who organised such a wonderful Christmas party. We all had a lovely time and my son's face lit up at the sight of Father Christmas"
"Thank you for inviting me to the party, I really enjoyed myself! I enjoyed meeting Father Christmas and the other children with arthritis. My favourite things in my party bag were the watch, the teddy and the hangman game! I enjoyed making and doing the crafts!"
