Patients, visitors and staff travelling to and from the Churchill Hospital can now benefit from an enhanced bus service designed to make access to the site easier and more convenient.

Launched on Sunday 3 May, the updated 600 bus service, operated by Oxford Bus Company, offers improved connections to the hospital, with buses now serving stops around the site.

The revised route provides direct access to the main entrance, Sobell House, OCDEM and the east entrance. Previously, the service only stopped on Roosevelt Drive, just outside the site.

The service will operate every 30 minutes during the day from Monday to Saturday, with hourly services during the evenings and on Sundays.

Lisa Hofen, Chief Estates and Facilities Officer at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: "We welcome the introduction of this enhanced bus service, which will improve connectivity to the Churchill Hospital site.

"Reliable and accessible public transport is hugely important for our patients, visitors and staff, helping people get to appointments more easily and supporting our workforce to travel to and from work.

"Better links to our hospitals are a real positive and will help reduce car journeys while improving the overall experience for those using our services.”

Further details about the wider route, including links between the city centre and Park & Ride sites, are available on Oxford Bus Company’s website.
