Statement: National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation
Simon Crowther, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We would like to thank the families and staff members who have spoken honestly and openly to Baroness Amos and her team. We know it will have taken great strength for those sharing difficult experiences and we are very grateful to them for doing so. We are listening carefully to all feedback, and it is already helping us to make improvements and to identify areas of good practice we can build upon.
“We very much welcome the national investigation. The final report will be important in informing improvements in maternity and neonatal services at Oxford University Hospitals and across the country.
“There is always an opportunity for patients to tell us about their experiences, whether good or bad. We are listening and would encourage anyone who has not yet done so to get in touch with us directly.”
