Lizi Sims works on the Hepatology Ward at the John Radcliffe Hospital and on 20 December was surprised with a DAISY Award.

On receiving the award she said "I really appreciate this. It's not about me as it's about all the support from the team.

"We do a great job as a team. We treat a group of patients that deserve the same level of care as everyone else and we ensure they have equal access to treatment."

Vicki Black, who nominated Lizi, said "I have worked with her for six years and three years ago Lizi set up a service in the community to allow patients who are historically difficult to engage to be able to access Hepatitis C treatment.

"She provides clinics at several drug and alcohol centres across the region and has begun to provide clinics at homeless hostels.

"She provides tailored support and fantastic care to each patient, seeing them whenever they can attend. Without her they would be very unlikely to receive treatment."
