Outpatient clinics and elective procedures running as normal

Since Wednesday 13 December outpatient appointments and elective inpatient surgery are going ahead as planned at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

We would like to publicly thank all our staff members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty during the recent poor weather to maintain high quality services for our patients.

Their outstanding efforts helped to keep our patients safe despite the adverse weather conditions.

There are currently no weather warnings in place for Oxfordshire from the Met Office, but please do continue to be mindful of any residual ice and plan your journey carefully.

Many cardiac and respiratory conditions are exacerbated by cold weather, which may lead to an increase in the number of patients coming to hospital over the next few days. 

To support us during this time, please only come to A&E if strictly necessary, and if it is a genuine emergency.
