Our thanks go to flu vaccinator Jayne Woodhouse

This article is more than six years old.

Our thanks go to Jayne Woodhouse who is one of our top flu vaccinators.  Jayne says, 'Having had flu myself a number of years ago and passed it onto my son who was really poorly, I am first in the queue for the flu vaccination.

I share my experience of having flu with staff which I hope has helped.  Where I work, we care for patients with long-term conditions and suppressed immunity systems and I have discussed the implications of passing flu onto vulnerable people.

I am pleased to say that I have vaccinated a number of staff who have not taken up the vaccination before.  I've also vaccinated a small number of staff with needle phobia - I have also become quite skilled at vaccinating a moving arm!'
