Oxford University Hospitals has set aside a week in November to celebrate all administrative members of staff.

Across the Trust there are almost 3,000 colleagues working in various departments in both patient facing and non-patient facing settings to ensure that patients get the care and services that they need. The Administrative and Clerical Appreciation Week will take place this year from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 November and will celebrate and acknowledge staff members who have been previously recognised by their teams, as well as giving new awards to deserving teams and individuals.

Activities lined up for the week include seminars on different topics and staff excellence nominations. There will also be an Appreciation Tree on every hospital site, for people to add their messages of support as well as an administrative recruitment event at the end of the week. Oxford Hospitals Charity will also be giving out cakes and goodie bags to administrative and clerical staff.

Sara Randall, Chief Operating Officer at Oxford University Hospitals said: “This week is an opportunity to appreciate all administrative staff within the Trust. Their jobs are vital to the effective running of our services and hospitals.

“We have seen them shine through in our staff award ceremonies, managing their responsibilities and playing their part in ensuring our patients receive the compassionate and excellent care, as well as supporting our people to provide that care.”

Sunil Johal, Deputy Director of Elective Care at Oxford University Hospitals said: “I am extremely pleased that we have been given the opportunity to celebrate our wonderful Administrative and Clerical staff, who also play an integral part in the functioning of our hospitals.  Senior leaders across the Trust have been extremely engaged and supportive of this campaign. My appreciation also goes to the project group who helped turn this concept into reality.”
