This article is more than one year old.

Professor Bruno Holthof steps down from his post as Chief Executive Officer of Oxford University Hospitals today (Thursday 30 June 2022), as announced earlier this year.

In a personal message to all Trust staff, he said: "As I prepare to step down at the end of today from my role as your Chief Executive Officer after almost seven years, I would like to say a personal thank you to everyone who I have had the pleasure of working with during my time leading our OneTeamOneOUH.

"It has been a privilege to lead the Trust since 2015, not least during the COVID-19 pandemic when your resilience, innovation and teamwork were all key to our response to this once in a lifetime challenge for our NHS."

Bruno went on to say: "On my last day working here at OUH, I am delighted to launch our new eBook reflecting on our collective achievements and looking forward to what I am sure will be a bright future for our OneTeamOneOUH.

"OneTeamOneOUH - Past, Present, Future is structured around the three key elements of our OUH Strategy which underpins all that we do - Our People (all staff working across the Trust), Our Patients and Our Populations."

OUH Chair, Professor Sir Jonathan Montgomery, added: "I would like to thank Bruno for his service to OUH since his appointment in October 2015. He has set the tone for our commitment to compassionate excellence and he has shown exceptional leadership throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Bruno is rightly very proud of what staff at OUH and in our partner organisations have achieved in rising to the personal and professional challenges which we have all faced over the past two years. His personal contribution during this period in particular has been immense."

While the process to recruit a substantive replacement for Bruno continues, Professor Meghana Pandit (OUH Chief Medical Officer) will be Interim Chief Executive Officer with effect from tomorrow (Friday 1 July 2022)."
