Academic foundation doctor selected to join the Healthcare Leadership Academy as Cohort Director

A academic foundation doctor from John Radcliffe Hospital has been selected to join the Healthcare Leadership Academy (HLA) as a cohort director, supporting a group of HLA scholars as they learn the skills which will empower them as the next generation of healthcare leaders.
After excelling in the programme as a scholar, Soham Bandyopadhyay will be working with the academy to support upcoming healthcare leaders who have enrolled on the programme this academic year.
Founded in 2016, the HLA scholarship recognises healthcare students and professionals with proven leadership ability and gives them the opportunity to take their leadership skills to the next level.
The HLA says: "Alongside conducting research in neuroscience, global surgery, and medical education as part of his roles as an academic doctor, Soham has been an exemplar leader in initiatives related to widening participation. Soham has been widely praised in all his leadership roles, such as those in the BMA, NANSIG, InciSioN, and Medic Mentor. In addition to his formal leadership roles, Soham has consistently been an inspiring leader for his local community acting as an educational and research mentor for students locally, nationally and internationally. At the HLA, we particularly admire Soham’s passion for bringing the voices of patients and the general public to the table when discussing research or advocacy."
Soham said: "It is an honour to be able to mentor, and more importantly learn, from the incredibly inspiring scholars that join HLA every year. Leadership is about knowing where to go to learn and make use of various skills, and I will never be in short supply of learning new things as a Director for the HLA."
