Alert Coronavirus / COVID-19

If you have a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss or change to your sense of taste or smell, do not come to our hospitals. Follow the national advice on coronavirus (COVID-19).

Please find information on our services and visiting restrictions in our COVID-19 section.

Patients and visitors must wear a face covering in our hospitals.

Lateral flow tests and your appointments

In line with Government guidance, you and your support person must take a lateral flow test within 24 hours before your appointment.

You will be asked to produce evidence of a negative test on arrival at any of our centres or for an appointment. This can be the test itself, or evidence from the official government reporting site.

Please visit the Government website - order coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid lateral flow tests for information on how to get lateral flow tests.

If you have a positive lateral flow test result, you can find out what to do next on the NHS website - positive test result for coronavirus (COVID-19).

It is important to remember that, even if you test negative, you must still comply with all current COVID-19 guidelines: wash or sanitise your hands frequently, maintain a social distance and wear a face covering.

You must always wear a face covering inside our hospital and at your appointments unless you are exempt.

This testing requirement does not apply to urgent or emergency care. Please do not delay in attending if you require urgent or emergency care.

Contact our Maternity Assessment Unit if you have any concerns about your pregnancy.

What if I am unwell, self-isolating, or someone at home is unwell?

Please do not attend your appointment if you have symptoms of COVID-19, are living with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19, or if you are waiting for a COVID-19 test result.

For ultrasound appointments only, please contact and we will email you your rescheduled appointment.

Information that we need to reschedule your appointment:

  • Your name (as it appears on your hospital records)
  • Your date of birth
  • Your MRN (medical records number) or NHS number
  • What scan you are due to have
  • A contact number

For all other appointments, please call the number on your appointment letter.

Who can come with me to my appointment?

You may bring a support person with you to all your appointments. Children are not permitted.  The latest guidance for maternity visiting is available on our COVID-19 and pregnancy care - visitors page.

We look forward to meeting you at your appointment.
