Parathyroid Antibodies
Parathyroid Antibody testing is performed by a referral laboratory. This assay is only available to members of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Parathyroid antibodies are associated with autoimmune hypoparathyroidism. Autoimmune hypoparathyroidism can be seen in other autoimmune endocrinopathies such as autoimmune polyendocrinopathy syndrome type 1. There is evidence to suggest that autoimmune hypoparathyroidism is due to activating antibodies targeted to the calcium sensing receptor
