It can be very daunting being discharged home from hospital following a SAH. For many, they will have ongoing symptoms and be feeling worried and vulnerable. Having a friendly ear can be the difference between a good day and a bad one.
As a group we thought having someone to talk to in each area, who understood what they had experienced would be a perfect way for people to keep in touch 24/7. The link is an ex patient who has recovered well, and who feels they are able to offer some reassurance to those who have just been discharged home. This person will to be a point of contact if someone wants to meet up for a tea/coffee outside of the group area. They would not be responsible for managing care needs etc.; they would just be a friendly ear who may be able to offer advice to those still finding things difficult.
