Trainees groups

Oxford Foundation Trainees Group

The Oxford Foundation Trainees Group meets regularly with the senior consultants and managers in charge of the Foundation Programme and the Trust. We are here to ensure the Foundation Doctors have a voice in important issues related to training and trust governance.

We bridge the gap between junior doctors on the ground and senior managers and leaders who actually make the decisions.

Together, we work to address the concerns of Foundation Doctors, in order to improve the service provided to patients and the training provided to doctors.

We recruit every August to the Group, and details will be available at your induction to the Trust.

Foundation Education Leads

The Foundation Education Leads meet regularly with the Training Programme Directors who have a special interest in Foundation teaching.

If you are really keen on medical education, then you are eligible to apply to become a Foundation Education Lead. These Foundation Doctors assist the staff at the George Pickering Education Centre in the coordination of Case-based Teaching and provide input into the improvement of the Foundation Doctor teaching programme, including the use of electronic technologies and distance learning.
