The telephone line is extremely busy, but we check answerphone messages regularly and aim to respond within two to three hours.

Incorrect dose / overdose

If you have incorrectly taken or overdosed on anti-cancer medication, please contact Triage for advice.

If you are running out of anti-cancer treatment or its support medications, please discuss this with your Clinical Nurse Specialist.

We need 48 hours' notice where possible to organise prescriptions and dispense your medications.

Home delivery

Patients on regular oral Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) may have certain medications delivered to their home by a third party provider, Sciensus.

It takes five to seven working days from submitting the paperwork to enrol a new patient for home delivery of medications.

The Pharmacy team will continue to clinically screen and approve all prescriptions before dispensing.

Initially supported and opened with the support of Oxford Hospitals Charity to improve medicines access for cancer patients, the Satellite Pharmacy has become a fundamental part of the Churchill Hospital Cancer and Haematology Centre.

Horton General Hospital

We maintain a satellite cancer service at the Horton General Hospital, supporting the Brodey Cancer Centre. We encourage patients to collect medications from the Horton if convenient - please let us know if this would suit you.

Prescription charges

Prescriptions are free for people over the age of 60, and also for people under 60 with certain conditions, including a cancer diagnosis.

If you are eligible, apply for an NHS Medical Exemption Certificate.
