Radiotherapy Services

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive cancer service for all tumour sites, and hosts more than twenty local, specialist or regional multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).

Radiotherapy is an integral part of the treatment for many malignancies. It is also used when appropriate for the treatment of benign disease.

We are based within the Oxford Cancer and Haematology Centre, on the Churchill Hospital site and at the OUH Radiotherapy Centre @ Swindon on the Great Western Hospital site.

Radiotherapy is situated in a dedicated facility which provides an appropriate environment for the accurate planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatment for adults and children.

The responsibility for overall management of the service lies with the Radiotherapy Management Group, which comprises the Head of Service, the Radiotherapy Service Manager and the Head of Radiotherapy Physics.

  • Ketan Shah, Radiotherapy Head of Service
  • Carol Scott, Radiotherapy Services Manager
  • Jonathan Lane, Head of Radiotherapy Physics

There are two regular meetings with wider membership, the Radiotherapy Operational Group and the Radiotherapy Governance Meeting; both these groups meet monthly.

Members of staff are encouraged to participate in multidisciplinary sub-group meetings related to aspects of radiotherapy practice which feed into the Operational Group.
