Our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meets on a weekly/fortnightly basis to discuss, in confidence, all patients, those newly referred and those on treatment.
The age range we currently treat is 0-18 years in full-time education, covering all cancers and leukaemias within that age group.
The team comprises all the doctors, nurses and other health service staff who treat children with cancer and leukaemia within the Thames Valley.
This approach ensures that all necessary investigations are carried out as quickly as possible and that all treatment options are discussed throughout the disease process. Plans can then be discussed with the child and family.
The Paediatric Haematology/Oncology MDT includes the following members.
Prof K Lakhoo
Dr D Fowler
Rebecca Hester
Clare Jamieson
