Twenty-four members of staff at Oxford University Hospitals recorded reflections shaped by their roles, encounters and everyday work.
From these recordings, six themes emerged.
The resulting films bring together staff voices with images of John Goto's work, allowing words and artworks to sit alongside one another as different ways of thinking about breath.
The six films explore breath as something usually in the background, but also as work, as a connection between mind and body, as something seen and heard, as more than a measurement, and as freedom.
Through these reflections, breath moves beyond physiology. It becomes part of how staff listen, notice change and accompany people living with respiratory illness.
