West Wing staircase: Sinan's Circles

Zarah Hussain’s artwork for the West Wing staircase reflects the colour spectrum, creating a visual journey as you walk from one level to another to support wayfinding.

Her designs are derived from the interlocking circles found at the Şehzade Mosque and the Süleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul, both built by the famous Christian Ottoman architect, Sinan.

The vinyl artwork is accompanied by framed giclee prints of the designs.

Sun Dial: Night Watch

A large tapestry was installed in the West Wing as part of a collaboration between artist Susan Morris and chronobiologist Katharina Wulff.

Two further tapestries are installed in the Academic Centre.

65 prints, photographs and paintings for single rooms in Neurosciences and Specialist Surgery wards were purchased from artists living and working in Oxfordshire through an open selection process.
