Ellie Corps

Team Lead

Ellie Corps has been working in clinical research since 2012, having previously worked as a staff nurse in Cardiology. Her role includes the management of the study team, and the set-up and running of all NHS cardiovascular research studies. She is also patient-facing, recruiting and consenting patients to a variety of cardiovascular studies.

Bernadette Moreby

Cardiac Research Nurse

Bernadette Moreby was the first NHS Cardiac Research Nurse at Oxford University Hospitals, and has seen the work of the team grow to encompass all disciplines of adult cardiac medicine and surgery. In 2019 she received the TVSM CRN Research Nurse of the Year Award.

Deborah Barker

Cardiac Research Nurse

Deborah Barker joined the team in 2016 and works on interventional cardiology studies developing new treatments for coronary artery disease and heart valve deficiencies.

Cardiac Rhythm Management studies

Rachel Bates

Research Nurse

Rachel Bates has worked in Cardiac Theatres, ED, Acute Surgical Admissions and with an overseas aid NGO. She now works on interventional and drug studies, imaging and rhythm management, and clinically in the Cardiac Day Unit.

Macarena Hermosin

Research Nurse

Macarena Hermosin has a special interest in the advanced technology behind innovative devices and new treatments. She works on interventional, drug, cardiac device, heart failure and arrhythmia management studies.

Imaging studies

Amy Hartley

Research Nurse

Amy Hartley has clinical nursing experience in cardiothoracic, intensive care and emergency departments. She has experience in setting up and recruiting to clinical studies and now works on commercial and non-commercial cardiac device and rhythm management studies.

David Webster

Research Nurse

David Webster has a background in cardiac critical care. He joined the research team in 2011 and specialises in heart failure and devices but also arrhythmia and drug studies.

Lydia joined the team in 2017 from a background as a senior staff nurse in cardiothoracic critical care and emergency surgery. She works on arrhythmia, interventional and heart failure studies.

Jo Sawyer joined the team in 2016, supporting researchers and the nursing team with data management and administrative tasks for a number of cardiovascular research studies.

Research Study Co-ordinator

Katharine New supports the team with study set-up for observational studies, early phase clinical studies and large multi-centre randomised studies, securing the necessary approvals, contracts and funding arrangements.
