OUH Research Nurses run clinical trials for pre-dialysis, dialysis and transplant patients.
Research-active Consultants take on PI role and Registrars / Pharmacists also involved.
Works closely with CTSU, Radiology and Cardiology to run studies from phase 1b upwards.
There is a strong drive to find new treatments for patients with rare renal conditions, slow the rate of kidney function decline in patients with chronic renal failure, prolong the life span of transplanted kidneys and improve the life expectancy of dialysis patients.

OUH Nurses oversee trials involving Stroke and TIA patients.
Recruits on Acute Stroke Unit, in Follow-up Clinic and in the Emergency Department.
Patient group includes those who have had a stroke in the previous two hours and those attending follow-up clinics who are suitable for long-term window trials.
Trials range from testing new practices and processes, translational medicine and observational studies of adults from 18 to 105 years old.
