Maintaining data awareness and governance

To comply with local and national standards we must ensure we are approaching patients who have opted in to participate in audit, service evaluation, quality improvement or research.

If your service evaluation or quality improvement project involves the collection of patient data, whether as part of your clinical role or your academic programme (for example Advanced Clinical Practice), contact OUH Information Governance and request a filtered list of patient data before you start your project.

Email: information.governance@ouh.nhs.uk

You should not use your own patient lists as these are not filtered. This applies to all staff.

Before starting a project that uses patient data

  1. Please visit the OUH Data and Analytic Sharepoint site

  2. Raise an Information Request via ServiceNow - return of information can take up to one month

  3. Once you have the information returned to you, you can start your project

If you have further questions you can email information.governance@ouh.nhs.uk

Registering your project on Ulysses
