Your visit

After you are referred to our service, we will offer you a hospital appointment.

Your appointment may be with a member of the surgical or medical team, or you may be seen jointly, for example in the Skull Base Clinic.

Clinics

Most clinics are based within the West Wing at the John Radcliffe Hospital, and within OCDEM at the Churchill Hospital.

Please bring a list of your medications with you, and, if possible, a copy of any recent paperwork that relates to your condition.

At your appointment

You will have an opportunity to discuss your condition with a doctor at your appointment. If your condition is complex, you may see a number of different specialists.

This may include our specialist nurses, who are a key point of contact for patients and families, helping navigate what can sometimes be a complex pathway, involving a number of clinical services.

We may need to do some tests to help diagnose your condition.

Common tests within our service include:

  • MRI/CT scans
  • ophthalmology (eye tests)
  • audiology (hearing tests)
  • blood tests.

We can then give you further details about your condition, and explain the treatment options available to you.
