Welcome to Oxford Kidney Unit

Oxford Kidney Unit provides a regional renal service for Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire.

The unit has inpatient, outpatient and day case facilities with treatments ranging from diagnosis and management of kidney disease to provision of dialysis therapies for advanced kidney disease / end-stage kidney failure.

Haemodialysis is provided in network units at:

  • Banbury (Horton General Hospital)
  • High Wycombe
  • Milton Keynes
  • Aylesbury (Stoke Mandeville Hospital)
  • Swindon (Great Western Hospital)
  • Buckingham (Whitehouse)

There is a Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) service providing Peritoneal Dialysis for approximately 100 patients. This is organised from the PD Units at the Churchill High Wycombe, Milton Keynes and the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. .

We also provide a home haemodialysis (HHD) treatment for about 30 patients. Each person on HHD has links to their local haemodialysis unit.

Newly referred patients and dialysis patients requiring inpatient care are admitted to the Renal Ward.
