Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

Testing for STIs can be arranged through GPs or via Oxfordshire Sexual Health Service.

In conjunction with Oxfordshire Sexual Health Service, Microbiology tests for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Trichomonas
  • Herpes (genital swabs only)
  • Mycoplasma genitalium
  • Monkeypox
  • HIV
  • Syphilis
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C

Specimen requirements

Swabs for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, and Trichomonas NAAT:

BD molecular swab sample buffer tube (for clinician and patient taken sample)

Urine for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea NAAT:

BD molecular urine sample buffer tube (males only)
