Paediatric Cardiology

Paediatric Cardiology provides specialist congenital cardiac services, integrating fetal, paediatric and adult congenital cardiology on one site.

Paediatric services are based in Oxford Children's Hospital, next to Oxford Heart Centre.

The fetal, paediatric and adult congenital cardiac service is part of the Oxford-Southampton Congenital Cardiac Network, which brings together clinicians, nursing representatives, patient representatives, managers and commissioners from Wessex and Thames Valley.

The network has joint clinical working and management structures: any network activity not available on the Oxford site (mainly Paediatric Cardiac Surgery and Catheterisation) is delivered in Southampton.

Clinics are provided at:

  • Stoke Mandeville
  • High Wycombe
  • Milton Keynes
  • Reading
  • Banbury.

Complex cases from other local centres, such as Wexham Park, Northampton, Swindon and Kettering, referred to Oxford for multiple conditions, are also managed by the service.
