Beth has been writing poems with staff teams - from Microbiology to Dementia Leads, Psycho Oncology to Tissue Viability - since 2020, to celebrate their work.

In January 2022 Beth brought her Poetry Machine to all hospital sites to write poems with individual members of staff, created from their words and written on her typewriter for them to take away and share with colleagues, friends and family.

All Kinds of Bright includes words and stories from team poems, individual poems and focus group discussions to create a poem that reflects the experiences of staff and the distinctive character of our hospitals.

"I love the poem - it made me go goose pimply (and a bit tearful!)… I feel honoured to have a poem dedicated to our ward!"
Louise Garrett, Deputy Matron, F Ward, Horton General Hospital

"It has been a lovely opportunity to share and have our work story understood. It has been a really positive experience."
Julie Brown, Tissue Viability Nurse, John Radcliffe Hospital

Below is a film of the poem spoken by 18 members of our staff.
