Research

The main focus of the Kadoorie Centre is research.

We have offices for research, space for support staff and fully networked computing facilities.

Large multicentre randomised controlled trials and clinical studies are undertaken, and grants totalling £14.6 million to run more than 20 major trials have been obtained.

These trials have covered:

  • management of injury
  • different forms of mechanical support for fractures
  • management of infection
  • long-term clinical outcomes of patients
  • different forms of computer assisted monitoring
  • high frequency ventilation.

The future focus of the centre will be the development and evaluation of interventions to promote early recovery and later stage rehabilitation.
