About us

We provide a comprehensive range of services for adult patients with rheumatic conditions, treating conditions with medication and non-drug approaches including Physiotherapy.

We see most of our patients in the Rheumatology Outpatient Department or Day Unit for specific treatment. A few patients are admitted for further tests or treatment.

The department is active in rheumatology research and audit. Biological therapies are used for the treatment of aggressive disease and the department uses state-of-the-art methods of assessment and monitoring of patients.

Oxford Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology Centre (OxPARC)

OxPARC provides a 'one-stop' clinic, with support from Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Ophthalmology.

The service provides a specialist tertiary service for young people with rheumatic disease to the Thames Valley area and neighbouring counties.

Sports injuries

We have also led the development of Oxsport@noc - the Trust's multidisciplinary clinic for the diagnosis and management of sports injuries and related problems.

Oxsport@noc also provides vital training for a range of medical professionals wishing to gain expertise in sports medicine. The clinic works closely with athletes from Oxford's universities.
