We have eight fellow positions within the hip, knee and sarcoma service for surgeons who have completed their orthopaedic training and wish to further develop their subspecialty interest in hip / knee arthroplasty and orthopaedic oncology surgery.
The team covers all aspects of the treatment of knee and hip pathology as well as being a national centre for bone and soft tissue sarcoma.
Therefore, fellowships can be tailored to the needs and expectations of the applicant to a certain extent.
As well as treating patients, the NOC is well-known for its research and academic achievements. It has strong links with the University of Oxford and industry. During their time with us, fellows are encouraged and expected to contribute to the academic activities of the department, with the aim to complete at least one research paper to a national presentable level, publishable in a peer-reviewed journal.
Successful applicants will be required to become integrated members of the team involved in the day-to-day care of patients on the wards, outpatient clinics and theatres.

The duration of fellowships is six or 12 months. Overseas applicants are welcome to apply; we have welcomed fellows from Australia, North America, Africa and Europe.
